Suspect arrested in shooting death of man in Liberty City courtyard

 

Miami police have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a man in a Liberty City apartment courtyard earlier this month.

Antonio N. Sweeting, 24, of North Miami Beach was charged with first-degree murder and taken to Miami-Dade Jail.

On Oct. 7, Willie Gordon, 28, was shot several times near a courtyard stairwell at 6820 NW 17th Ave. He died at Ryder Trauma Center.

Witnesses identified Sweerting as the shooter.

Miami police did not release details of what led to the shooting or details of Monday’s arrest.

After the shooting, Miami police spokesman Rene Pimental called it a “brutal scene.”
