Successfully signed up for Obamacare

I successfully signed up for insurance through the Affordable Care Act’s Marketplace. Although it did take several attempts and I ran into some problems, it was easier and less stressful than the application I had to complete for my current policy, and the results were even better than I’d expected.

I will trade my current policy, which leaves my husband and me dangerously underinsured with a $10,000 deductible each, for the bargain price of $949 per month for an Obamacare policy that will cost less than half of what we are paying now. In addition, we will finally have a policy that will provide real protection from financial disaster and will allow us to see a doctor.

Keep trying, people. It’s well worth it.

Budget proposal would put children at risk

Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez’s proposal to eliminate police officers in crucial departments that specialize in child protection is irresponsible and illogical. Some of the units that would be abolished or reduced include:

  • LeBron’s return to Cleveland

The prodigal son has returned. After bolting the Cleveland Cavaliers four years ago for the bright lights of Miami, Ohio native LeBron James has returned home to Cleveland.

  • Disarm Hamas

Hamas must be disarmed for the sake of both Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Hamas is recognized by the European Union as a terrorist organization. It is a threat to Israel and has fired thousands of rockets into civilian areas.
