Two dead, several injured in shooting at possible cockfighting ring in rural South Dade

Two people were killed and several more wounded in a shooting at an agricultural area of South Miami-Dade.

The details remain sketchy, but police responded to a call around 8:30 p.m. Sunday of shots fired at a home in the 19000 block of Southwest 168th Street.

A CBS4 helicopter on Monday spotted authorities removing two bodies from a structure. Police have not released information on the dead or the number of people hit or their condition.

Detectives are doing their work at a dark and open crime scene, Miami-Dade police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta said.

"It's a lot of work," he said.

CBS4 is reporting that a possible cockfighting ring is on the rural property.

This report will be undated as more details become available.
