Miami Beach 21, Coral Park 14

Tough defense is key in Miami Beach’s victory over Coral Park

Special to the Miami Herald

The Miami Beach Hi-Tides were able to pull out a close victory with a steadfast rushing attack and a stout defense.

Coral Park had a chance to win the game after it recovered an onside kick on its own 30 with two minutes left in the game and only down one touchdown.

On the ensuing down, Rams quarterback Matthew Perez fumbled the ball, sealing the victory for Miami Beach.

The Hi-Tides took advantage of the big plays as all three of their touchdowns were from 50 yards or more.

The Hi-Tides’ Markel Anderson led the team with a 100 yards rushing.
