The children in Washington made a temporary deal, which means our elected officials are only able to act when we are teetering on the brink. From what I’ve read many families of federal employees are on the brink themselves, and now with a deal will probably be paid for all the time they were not allowed to go to work, which is what brings me to my quandary about why people that did not work are going to get paid.
Many people out here in the real non-government working world lost work, too, as a result of the shutdown, but no one is lining up to pay them for lost time.
If Washington votes to pay federal employees then we taxpayers spend a lot of money and get absolutely nothing in return.
The definition of a job has to do with performing an activity that earns money, therefore, being paid for not working must be an oxymoron. The root of that word must have something to do with our government!
