Beer fest in Grove, beer dinner at Oak Tavern

Grovetoberfest, which bills itself as Florida’s biggest beer festival, takes over Coconut Grove’s Peacock Park, 2820 McFarlane Rd., from 2:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday with more than 250 craft beers, Brew FIU’s Beer Tasting 101 a Kitchen Lab (with chefs Giorgio Rapicavoli and Michael Jacobs, among others), a home brew contest and more. Tickets are $40 at, $45 at the gate, with $90 VIP package available; 305-461-2700.

Celebrate Oktoberfest with the Miami Herald’s beer-of-the-week meister (and Esquire contributor), Evan S. Benn, who collaborated with chef-owner David Bracha on pairings for a four-course beer dinner at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Tavern, 35 NE 40th St., Miami. Cost is $50 plus tax and tip, with reservations required; 786-391-1818.
