A Plantation woman crashed her car through three backyards and ran over a sunbather Friday afternoon.

Witnesses saw a woman in her 60s driving east on Southwest 21st Street near 54th Avenue at about 4:55 p.m., said Joel Gordon of the Plantation Fire Department. Police did not release the identity of the driver.

Police said she apparently lost control of the car and crashed through three yards, leaving a short path of destruction in her wake.

A woman sunbathing in her yard was struck by the out-of-control car. She was taken to an area hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The car finally stopped in a third yard, which is where the driver lives, Gordon said.

She sustained minor injuries.

It was not immediately clear what caused the driver to lose control of the car.
