Re the Sept. 25 story, Commission to change taxi, car-service rules: Shame on Commissioner Audrey Edmonson for proposing an unlimited number of black sedans that will have no regulation and will charge whatever they want, unlike taxis.
There are already too many taxis in Miami-Dade and it’s very hard to pull into a cab stand causing taxis to waste gasoline. This will cause a fare scarcity and no one will be able to earn a living, which will force cab drivers into bankruptcy. I hope our county commissioners kill this proposal and not allow these black sedans to destroy our taxi industry because an open market simply will not work here.
