Aereo, the Internet service that essentially brings real-time broadcast TV to your phone, computer and other devices, announced Thursday that it will release its first Android app on Oct. 22, which will be available to Aereo members in markets where Aereo's technology has launched, including Miami. The free Aereo app will be compatible with devices running Android operating system 4.2 or higher. Aereo members will also now be able to connect a Roku box to their Aereo account using their Android device.
Aereo membership begins at $8 per month, for access to Aereo's cloud-based antenna/DVR technology and 20 hours of DVR storage. New York-based Aereo launched in Miami last month, part of its first wave of national expansion.
