Salon offers free haircuts to help Locks of Love cancer campaign

A North Miami-Dade salon is offering free haircuts through Oct. 11 to anyone that fits the requirements of the nonprofit Locks of Love charity organization, which accepts donations of human hair and money with the intention of making wigs for needy Canadian and American cancer patients.

Participants will be invited to the "Cuts for Cancer" event on Oct. 12, where people can meet a breast cancer survivor and participate in a silent auction where 100 percent of proceeds go to Locks of Love.

The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at LMC Beauty Factory, 17670 NW 78th Ave.
