Our federal government has shut down and I blame every American that voted Democrat or Republican. The two-party system is a charade, not a democracy.
We should demand proportional representation and instant runoff elections that allow one to rank their candidates. The lowest vote-getter is wiped out and the vote goes to the next candidate until one is eventually picked. We need a coalitions that force two or more parties to work together or the government is dissolved.
Winner take all is no way to represent 300 million Americans. Unless we demand change away from this charade, we are going to continue to get what we deserve: mediocrity, incompetence and the loss of our basic freedoms such as privacy from a snooping and increasingly authoritarian and tyrannical government.
