One person, three horses killed in barn fire in Northwest Miami-Dade


A barn fire at Rubio Ranch in Northwest Miami-Dade left one person and three horses dead Sunday morning.

Police and fire crews responded to a 911 call at 12:57 a.m. to the ranch, near Northwest 122nd Avenue and 157th Street, according to Miami-Dade Police spokesman Javier Baez.

Once the fire was extinguished, officials found the victim’s body.

The victim resided in the stables’ small living quarters. The stables were a total loss, but other animals survived the fire.

Baez said the cause of the fire had not been determined and was under investigation. The name of the victim was not released.
