Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony Morrow scored a game-high 26 points, while second-year players Austin Rivers and Anthony Davis each chipped in 21 to help the new-look New Orleans Pelicans to a 116-115 win over the Houston Rockets in the preseason opener for both teams.
The Pelicans overcame a nine-point deficit to begin the fourth quarter to spoil the debut of newest Houston Rocket Dwight Howard, who collected 19 points and nine rebounds.
Rivers, Morrow and Davis keyed the comeback, combining for 27 of the team's 34 fourth quarter points. Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans, both prized offseason acquisitions of New Orleans, contributed 13 and seven points, respectively in their debuts.
James Harden led seven Rockets in double figures with 21 points. Omri Casspi scored 20 off the bench.
