Special to the Miami Herald

The Hialeah Thoroughbreds scored on their first three possessions to rout Hialeah Gardens 52-0 at Milander Stadium on Friday night.

Senior running back Henry Bussey rushed for 107 yards on three attempts and scored two touchdowns to lead the Thoroughbreds (4-1, 2-0) against the Gladiators (0-5, 0-2).

The Thoroughbreds’ stout defense blanked the Hialeah Gardens offense and held it to a dismal 35 total yards.

Despite the rout, it was an ugly contest as both school’s were penalized for a combined 19 penalties for 225 yards.
