cteproff@MiamiHerald.com

The water supply in Hollywood is safe to drink and use after a pipe was ruptured while utility crews were working at South 28th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

The Broward County Health Department had issued a precautionary boil water notice after the 24-inch water main was ruptured sending water into the surrounding neighborhood and lowering the water pressure citywide.

City crews worked overnight to repair the water main and city crews are working to repair the section of roadway that was removed to repair the water main.

Anyone experiencing water supply problems should call the Hollywood Department of Public Utilities at 954-92-.3241.
