Univision’s news chief will take on a new job as CEO of the Doral-based Fusion, an English-language network launching October 28.
Isaac Lee, who founded Poder magazine before becoming a top Univision executive, takes over for interim Beau Ferrari, a top Univision executive who served as interim CEO during the launch. Lee’s appointment comes after the departure of Cesar Conde from the top ranks of Univision. He was the senior executive supervising the launch of the joint venture with ABC.
Variety first reported the hire. Lee serves as president of news for Univision, and will retain that duty and title. The network’s news division will share space with Fusion in the new studios the network built in Doral.
Conde left as president of Univision’s networks division for a top job at NBC, which owns Univision’s top Spanish-language rival, Telemundo.
