Florida State Seminoles’ Mario Edwards Jr. back against Maryland

Miami Herald Writer

When No. 8 Florida State hosts No. 25 Maryland on Saturday, sophomore defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. will be back in the lineup.

“He has had one of the best weeks of practice he has had since he’s been here. I’ve been very pleased,” coach Jimbo Fisher said Thursday. “I think a little bit of it could be fresh legs — rejuvenated. Sometimes you miss something and it reminds you of how much you like it — how much fun it is to be out there. He’s practiced really well.”

Edwards has missed the past two games after having a plate and screws inserted into his hand.

Injury update

Junior safety Tyler Hunter is out for Saturday’s game. He hasn’t practiced since leaving the Bethune-Cookman game with a neck injury. Senior defensive tackle Demonte McAllister will also miss the Maryland game as he recovers from a concussion.
