West Broward volleyball rolls to win over Everglades

The host undefeated West Broward girls’ volleyball team picked up another victory when it swept the Everglades Gators 25-4, 25-6, 25-4 on Wednesday afternoon.

Alex Hopkins led the Bobcats with 26 assists, 15 points and four digs, followed by Sam Arenas, who recorded six kills and three digs. Lexi Dean added 13 points and seven kills.

“[Wednesday night], we did a really good job serving aggressively and making sure we were siding out in a good percentage,” West Broward coach Cory Sarubbi said. “We have to continue doing what we’ve been doing; the girls are working really hard at practice to eliminate errors and get the stats up.”

The Bobcats improved to 9-0 and 6-0 in district. They next face the Douglas Eagles at 6 p.m. Thursday.
