TALLAHASSEE -- Florida State is 4 for 4 — all touchdowns — on its final drive of the first half of its games this season, including a 55-yard touchdown pass from Jameis Winston to Kenny Shaw as time expired Saturday.
“That’s the way we practice,” Winston said Wednesday. “That’s the way Coach [ Jimbo] Fisher teaches us to practice. When we are tired and when we have to make something happen, our team usually rises to the occasion, and we make something happen.”
Winston is 67 of 91 for 1,048 yards, with 12 touchdown passes and two interceptions this season.
Asked whether he minded this Saturday’s noon kickoff time, Winston had few complaints.
“Man, I just like playing,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what time it is, don’t matter where we play. We could be in the Walmart parking lot. When it is time to play football, it’s time to play.”
