TotalBank on Wednesday announced a management realignment as it launches the next phase of its business plan.
The Miami bank named Luis de la Aguilera, formerly president and chief marketing officer, as president and chief executive officer. De la Aguilera joined TotalBank in 2000 as executive vice president.
Jorge Rossell, formerly chairman and chief executive, will continue as chairman, leading the bank’s strategic direction. Since he became chairman in 2007, the bank has increased deposits by 85 percent, boosted loans by 45 percent, and has expanded its banking center network from 14 locations to 21, with two new locations in Doral opening this month, TotalBank said.
Along with the management changes, TotalBank said that Benigno Pazos, the bank’s chief credit officer, will be named to the bank’s board of directors.
TotalBank, with $2.5 billion in assets, is owned by Grupo Banco Popular Español, one of the largest banking groups in Spain.
