After injuries, FIU likely to use Silas Spearman at RB

Freshman running back Alfonso Randolph, FIU’s second-leading rusher, has a sprained knee and was on crutches. DeAndre Jasper, a sophomore wide receiver who took a couple of days’ worth of running back reps early in training camp, did the same Tuesday. Look for freshman Silas Spearman often this week.

Pair suspended

Cornerbacks Richard Leonard, a junior, and Jeremiah McKinnon, a sophomore, have been suspended for a violation of team rules, according to coach Ron Turner. Turner didn’t specify which rules or how long the suspensions would last.
