Watch out for this trick AT&T uses to finagle unearned money from their customers: Hurried bill payers tend to write a check for the last amount shown on their monthly statements. On bills from AT&T the actual balance owed is followed by the higher amount one must pay if it doesn’t get there on time.
Most customers will look at and write a check for the last amount shown, as I’ve done several times. I’ve usually caught my mistakes and corrected it. But how many bill-payers are fooled? Does AT&T refund the amount for those who overpay?
