A teenager was struck by a car Sunday night in Dadeland, according to Florida Highway Patrol

The accident happened at Southwest 77th Avenue and Southwest 88th Street just after 8 p.m.

Troopers shut down several lanes as they conducted an investigation.

According to officials on the scene, the 17-year-old victim was struck by a black Nissan.

People on the scene said the teenager was crossing the street when he was struck.

A T-shirt and headphones could be seen on the roadway hours after the crash.

The driver remained at the scene to talk to investigators, and troopers said it does not appear alcohol played a role in the crash.
