Boyett, Clarington lead Westminster Christian past Keys Gate


Miami Herald Staff Report

Hunter Boyett passed for 367 yards and four touchdowns on 16 of 21 attempts in Westminster Christian’s 39-0 win over Keys Gate.

Tight end Devonaire Clarington cashed in on most of his passes with seven catches for 155 yards and three touchdowns.

Tim Irving, nephew of former UM wide receiver Michael Irvin, caught 5 passes for 65 yards and ran the ball eight times for 66 yards and two scores.

The Westminster defense forced five turnovers and produced a goal-line stand.

    Westminster Christian football team has lofty title goals in 2014

    A historic 2013 football season for Miami-Dade County included a record four state champions. Westminster Christian, a state semifinalist in Class 3A, finished a couple of wins short of joining the festivities.

    Westminster obliterates Moore Haven for state title

    Westminster Christian's performance in the Class 3A state title game was so complete and so thorough, officials began setting up the postgame awards table in the fourth inning.

    Husk, Kleis sisters propel Westminster Christian to state softball title game

    Westminster Christian bounced back from an early deficit in a big way, scoring four in the top of the second inning en route to a 4-2 victory in a Class 4A state semifinal game at the Dodgertown complex.
