St. Thomas Aquinas punishes Nova

Special to the Miami Herald

After a tough, two-point loss to Miramar a week ago, St. Thomas Aquinas returned to the field with a vengeance Friday night against Nova as the Raiders rolled to a 58-6 victory in their District 7A-15 opener.

St. Thomas (3-1, 1-0) controlled the game from the start, outscoring Nova (1-4, 0-2) 51-0 in the first half. The Raiders defense was flying around the field all night, scoring three touchdowns and even recording a safety all before halftime.

“It was huge,” coach Rocco Casullo said. “We really got after the guys this week after that loss to Miramar, and I think the kids responded well.”
