Guinness mobile gaming record attempt for United Way of Miami-Dade


As a fundraiser for United Way of Miami-Dade, a group of insurance company employees will try to break a Guinness Book of World Records.

More than 1,000 employees of Assurant in Miami will play video games on their mobile devices to set a new world record for the largest mobile gaming party.

The event will be held 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 at Assurant’s Miami office, 11222 Quail Roost Dr.

The voice of the Miami Heat, Michael Baiamonte, will serve as starter, and civic and elected officials are expected to attend.

The record to break: The largest mobile phone gaming party to date involved 510 participants at Bharti Airtel Ltd - Team Karnataka in Mangalore, India in 2013.

Assurant's more than 1,800 employees expect to shatter the record.
