Diana Nyad’s positive story

Diana Nyad started out being praised for her incredible swim from Cuba to Florida, but the words “cheater” and “liar” followed very quickly. Obviously there are questions to be asked, but Nyad and her crew have agreed to provide evidence and records to prove her story. I understand that there will always be skeptics, but I think people need better hobbies.

Why can’t we just accept such an incredible and uplifting story? A woman just realized her biggest dream and shared it with the world.

I think that deserves a pat on the shoulder, not a punch in the throat.

What happened to benefit of the doubt? This story deserves positive attention and it most definitely should motivate us to believe that anything is possible as long as we put our minds to it.
