Following a three-month investigation, Davie Police arrested a 66-year-old Miramar man on charges of downloading child pornography.
Julian Ortiz was arrested in his home Wednesday and charged with 25 counts of possession of child pornography, according to the Davie Police Department.
The investigation began on July 9 when officers noticed an IP address advertising questionable videos and pictures of children. Investigators found terms frequently used in child pornography sites and were able to link 30 illegal pornographic files to the IP address between June 3 and Aug. 20, according to an arrest report.
On Aug. 14, the Davie Police Department asked Comcast for the IP address’ account holder.
That information led investigators to 18241 SW 18th St., where they found and arrested Ortiz.
Ortiz admitted to officers that he downloaded the child pornography, police said.
He was taken to Broward County’s main jail and held on a $51,000 bail.
