18-year-old wounded at school basketball court in Miami Gardens



Miami Gardens and Miami-Dade schools police are looking for a suspect who shot and wounded an 18-year-old man on a middle school basketball court Wednesday evening.

The unidentified victim, who is a student at another school, was on the court around 6:30 p.m. at Parkway Middle School when the suspect pulled up in a white vehicle and opened fire several times before driving off.

The man, a student at the alternative school the Academy for Community Education, was initially driven to Jackson North in critical condition and later moved to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he is in stable condition.

The shooter is still at large and no one else at the court was hurt.
