An 83-year-old grandmother was shot in the leg Sunday when she tried to break up a fight over a cellphone between family members.
Police said the woman, Marian Hall, was wounded as she got in between her grandsons, Robert Hill, 28, and Kenneth Smith, 23. Smith pulled out a gun on Hill at her home at Southwest 223rd Street and 117th Place, Miami-Dade police said.
As all three struggled, the gun went off and Hall was struck in the leg. She was taken to Kendall Regional, where she was in stable condition late Sunday.
Smith was arrested, but it was unclear what charges he will face.
