It is disgraceful watching lawmakers and television talking heads degrade, disrespect and attack the president. I was against the Iraq war and President Bush’s policies, especially his foreign policies, but I never disrespected him by calling him names or showing disdain for him.
There was a time when Americans respected the office of the president regardless of the party of the man in office. That went out the window when a man of a good heart, kind intentions and conviction was elected. His name is like none other before him. His background and skin color not at all what many consider acceptable.
Yet, this man has accomplished more for our country than any other I can remember — and I’m 65 years old. The more he does, the more is demanded of him. Thank God for his patience, kindness and integrity.
