Keys Gate Charter’s football team might be independent and only in its second varsity season, but it is finding ways to win consistently.

Raymond Gage scored two touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime, to lead Keys Gate to a 14-11 victory against Mater Academy on Thursday night at Harris Field to improve to 2-0.

Mater took an 11-8 lead on its possession of overtime before Keys Gate scored the game-winner on Gage’s 10-yard run.

Gage also scored earlier in the game on a 76-yard run. Javar Spann, Michael Cabrera and Aaron Givens each had double-digit tackles to lead the Knights defense.

Zack Moss led Mater Academy (1-1) in rushing with 13 carries for 101 yards. Senior Joseph Barrocas scored the Lions’ only touchdown. Jordan Turner had an interception.
