During the Jewish High Holy Days, we are encouraged to reflect on how well we have lived our lives during the past year and what we need to improve upon. Sometimes a stranger whose actions model the very values we are striving for crosses our path.
A few days ago, my husband inadvertently dropped his wallet at a South Miami Chevron station and drove off without it. When he called the station manager, Frank Lago, to inquire about it, he was told the wallet was found. Lo and behold, everything was intact including his driver’s license, credit cards and his money.
Three cheers and heartfelt thanks to the Good Samaritan who turned it in and to Mr. Lago, who kept it safe. Their integrity and honesty will surely inscribe them in the Book of Life!
