FSU’s James Wilder Jr. listed as day-to-day

Miami Herald Writer

Junior running back James Wilder Jr. left Monday night’s game against Pittsburgh early with an apparent shoulder injury but coach Jimbo Fisher downplayed the setback Wednesday, saying it was nothing serious.

Wilder is considered day-to-day at this point. The Seminoles have a bye this weekend, and play Nevada on Sept. 14 in their home opener.

No News on Jackson

Junior offensive guard Tre Jackson also left Monday night’s game early due to injury. Florida State has provided no update.

The Seminoles are thin along the offensive line this season, redshirt sophomore Ruben Carter replaced Jackson against Pitt.

Back at it

Florida State returned to practice Wednesday in a closed session just two days after beating Pittsburgh 41-13 at Heinz Field

“We have a lot of fundamental things we need to work on,” Fisher said during the ACC media teleconference. “We still have a lot of things we have to get ironed out.”
