The answers the Herald received from queries to state lawmakers about Syria were not surprising at all. They were all ambiguous and cowardly and left enough wiggle room so that they could all complain about President Obama’s decision no matter what he decides to do in Syria. We have a great track record in the Middle East, Iraq, Libya and Egypt. The United States has 100,000 people die from hospital infections every year, over 30,000 firearms deaths, 20,000 from drunk driving, old and young going hungry and millions with no health insurance. All this in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Can’t we stay out of Syria and do better for our own citizens?
