With talk of the president considering military action against Syria, I would hope that President Obama considers carefully what the consequences would mean, not only to Syria and the United States, but to the Mideast as well. He must listen to his military people, foreign-policy experts and every source available before he involves us in another Mideast war, a la Iraq and Afghanistan. And he must consult Congress with a detailed plan of action, purpose and outcome.
The American public must also be informed ahead of any action, especially since its appetite for another war is nonexistent. Obama was vocal in support of the removal of Libyan and Egyptian leaders, and look how badly that has turned out. How many more Mideast miscalculations by this administration should Americans tolerate?
