There are way too many do-gooders out there who like to opine on things they have no knowledge about. The psychologist who appeared on local TV to opine on this issue is a prime example.
Of all the sports played by high school teams, football is probably the most physical. I guess the psychologist’s comment about the slap to the player’s helmet resulting in the player’s lost self esteem could carry forward to the recipient of a hard block or tackle as well. This is rubbish. Let coaches coach, and players play. It is the game.
