Two South Florida community banks this week announced new additions to their boards of directors.
U.S. Century Bank has added to its board Aida Levitan, a longtime advertising executive and president of The Levitan Group, a firm that provides consulting services to national and international companies and organizations. Levitan is also president of ArtesMiami, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting Hispanic artists and cultural organizations.
Apollo Bank named banker veteran Bill Heffernan to its board. Heffernan, whose career in banking has spanned more than 40 years, was most recently president and CEO of TotalBank, where he led the growth of the institution’s asset base from $500 million to $2 billion over the course of 18 years. His tenure included three bank mergers and acquisitions with regional and community banks, culminating with TotalBank’s acquisition by Banco Popular Español in 2007.
