Toddler drowns in Southwest Miami-Dade during family gathering

 

A toddler died Sunday evening after what police said appears to be an accidental drowning.

Miami-Dade police investigating the drowning that happened in the family pool at a home at 7265 SW 86th Ave.

According to police, the 2-year-old girl was in the pool during a family gathering and went underwater without adults realizing it.

It’s believed the girl was only submerged in the pool for a few minutes.

Despite rescue efforts, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
