Miramar man charged in wife’s death

A Miramar man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his wife.

Brian Symonette, 43, called police around 9:50 a.m. Saturday to report that his wife had been injured in their home in the 3400 block of Southwest 130th Avenue.

During the call, Symonette reportedly admitted to the emergency dispatcher that he had shot her.

When officers arrived they found the body of 51-year old Lisa Symonette.

Police said she had been shot.

Records show the Symonettes were accountants and prepared tax returns.

Symonette, who made his first court appearance Sunday, was denied bond.

Police said Sunday and 11-year-old child, who was at the home at the time of the incident, has been temporarily placed with family members.
