Senior defensive end Paul Crawford seems to be in the doghouse. Crawford was demoted to second team this week, replaced by linebacker Michael Wakefield, and got run through the whistle drill after practice Friday.

Rest for Leonard

Junior cornerback Richard Leonard, the team’s best cornerback and return man, didn’t run a single 7-on-7 or 11-on-11 drill Friday with the first team or the second team nor did he run any kickoff return drills. FIU coach Ron Turner said Leonard was being “rested.”

Gibbs back in action

Another Killian graduate, freshman Jordan Gibbs, was healthy enough for full practice for the first time this week. On Friday, Gibbs was switched to fullback from linebacker. FIU’s only fullback on the roster is walk-on redshirt freshman Jorge Lorgenzo out of Columbus High.
