GAINESVILLE -- Florida drew the short straw when the 2014 Southeastern Conference schedule was released Tuesday.
The Gators must travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to play two-time defending BCS national champion Alabama on Sept. 20, 2014.
Florida hosts LSU on Oct. 11, 2014, and travels to Tennessee (Oct. 4) and Vanderbilt (Nov. 8).
The Gators have two bye weeks next season, one before the Tennessee game and another before their annual game against Georgia in Jacksonville (Nov. 1).
Offensive coordinator Brent Pease has “a pretty good idea” who will redshirt and who will play come fall, just not at tailback. Earlier this week, coach Will Muschamp said he expects freshmen running backs Kelvin Taylor and Adam Lane to “help [Florida] this season,” but Pease changed tunes Wednesday and insinuated one is likely to redshirt.
“We’ve got to find the spot for one of them, whichever we decide to play,” he said. “I don’t know the answer to that yet.”
