Metromover is moving again Thursday after a man was struck and killed by a train Wednesday afternoon that forced the closing of the entire elevated rail system and the rerouting of nearby traffic during rush-hour.
The unidentified man was struck by a train and fell to the pavement below at the Miami Avenue Station near Macys department store on Miami Avenue and Southwest First Street, a Miami-Dade transit spokeswoman said.
Its unclear if the death around 6 p.m. was a suicide or an accident.
Metromovers Inner Loop was shut down and riders were transported from station-to-station on free bus shuttles. Just before 10 p.m., the Outer Loop was also closed, but reopened an hour later.
