Re the Aug. 12 article Davis doesn’t speak for me: I commend Christine Flowers for including the word “choice” in her article. But freedom of choice means respecting the beliefs or nonbeliefs of others. To view and interpret critical issues such as women’s rights in the simplistic attack mode, as she does in her article, can only deepen the partisan divide that exists in American society.
If 82 members in the Senate can commit themselves to rebuilding trust across the aisle to debate immigration reform, surely we, as Americans can have a dialogue about the same social, economic, political and environmental issues that affect all our lives as well.
