University of Miami hosts annual CanesFest event for fans

Fans can meet and greet their favorite University of Miami athletes, including football players, Saturday at the annual BankUnited CanesFest. Hurricane cheerleaders, and athletes from the football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, volleyball, women’s tennis, and swimming and diving teams will attend.

The free event runs from 4 to 7 p.m., with the football team set to sign autographs and meet fans from 5 to 7. Free parking is available in the BankUnited Center lots at 1245 Dauer Drive — off Ponce de Leon Blvd. — in Coral Gables.

Football players will only sign the official 2013 CanesFest poster that will be provided free at the event. Fans should not bring other items to be signed. In addition to the autograph signing, CanesFest will include a “Dress Like a Miami Hurricane” photo booth, ACC championship trophies photo booth and a men’s basketball select-a-seat event.
