Two women die in Broward traffic accidents

Two women were killed in separate traffic accidents Wednesday morning in Pompano Beach and Lauderdale Lakes.

An unidentified woman was trying to cross Powerline Road in Pompano Beach at 5:26 a.m. when she was fatally struck by a Toyota RAV4 driven by Dennis Klein, 62, of Margate. The victim, in her 20s, had just gotten of a county bus. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

At 6:40 a.m., Remise Ullius, 34, of Lauderdale Lakes, was waiting for the bus when a car veered from the roadway and hit her on West Oakland Park Boulevard. The driver, Bruce Williams, 51, of Fort Lauderdale, told detectives he swerved to avoid hitting another car. Ullius was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where she died at 7:40 a.m.

The homicide investigations are ongoing.
