Stolen tow truck crashes into Hialeah apartment building

A stolen Road Ranger tow truck slammed into an apartment building in Hialeah Wednesday morning.

According to early reports, the crash into the building at West 16th Avenue and 44th Place happened after a police chase.

The injured suspect had to be removed from the truck by the "jaws of life." A family inside the building, including a 4-year-old, was not hurt.

Larger tow trucks have been brought in to remove the crashed truck.

CBS4 is reporting that police had tried to pull the driver over for speeding, not knowing it was stolen.

This bulletin will be updated as more information becomes available.
