Police say driver struck two pedestrians on Broward Boulevard minutes apart, killing one

Fort Lauderdale police say a driver struck a pedestrian on Broward Boulevard Friday night and then made a U-turn and hit a second person on his way back to check on the first.

The first person, struck near the intersection of Broward Boulevard and Northwest Seventh Avenue, died, according to Miami Herald news partner WFOR CBS-4.

The second, hit near Northwest Fifth Avenue, was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition.

“It is all convoluted right now, we have a lot of things we are trying to sort out,” Fort Lauderdale Police Detective DeAnna Greenlaw told CBS-4.

Police have not released the names of the driver or the two victims.

They hope to find surveillance video that will show what happened, according to CBS-4.
