Deerfield Beach man dies in Boca Raton car crash

A Deerfield Beach man died in a car crash on Interstate 95 in Boca Raton Friday afternoon after he had a medical problem and lost control of his car.

Everett L. Glass, 49, was driving a 2003 Jaguar S-Type in the outside southbound lane of I-95 at about 2:45 p.m. when he had an unspecified medical issue, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The car swerved off the road onto an exit ramp for Palmetto Park Road, then veered onto the grass shoulder and struck a light pole.

Glass was taken to Boca Raton Regional Hospital, where he died.

Two passengers, Pompano Beach resident Shawana G. Souffrant, 53 and Boca Raton resident Erin J. Burgess-Glass, 29, were treated for minor injuries.
