Miami recently lost a pillar of our community but not the foundation he built. Charles Dascal was one of a kind. He was a highly successful, but humble business and community leader who never forgot where he came from. Beyond his business success in banking and the automotive industry, his greatest accomplishment was raising the bar in philanthropy for future generations.
Mr. Dascal was a major supporter of Miami Dade College and its cultural programs as well as many other great causes in our community.
His support extended beyond financial contributions as he and his wife, Fanny, always by his side, regularly attended community events. He was a perennial fixture at MDC’s Miami International Film Festival and Tower Theater and was one of the most approachable and engaging people in our community. He will be missed, but his legacy will never be forgotten.
